  1. Prince Keemer Aroma says:

    Hi Maam VP Sarah,
How are you Maam? I hope you are doing well and I hope you get to read this email.
I know you have a lot now and just watching what your family has been going through a lot lately (with all the budget cuts) I am apprehensive in reaching out as I don’t want to trouble your office with our ailing. But I have no choice, I really don’t. My hands are shaking as I type the words. I believe that you are the only government officer that has the heart for the Filipino People. We cry when
I hope I am on the right track in doing this.
Our family is completely exhausted and on the brink of bankruptcy.
My name is Prince Keemer Aroma from Lugait Misamis Oriental. I can provide all my Identifications as well as a picture of me to prove that I am a true Filipino.
I am writing in behalf of my beloved mother, Amorlina Aroma, a hard-working Filipino Citizen, a hard-working government employee (10+ years as a job order and recently just regularized after a very long tenure), who loves her work and has been working hard ever since to feed, shelter and educate us.
2020 WHEN SHE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH STAGE 4 CANCER. IT WAS REALLY DEVASTATING. (I am compiling all her medical records and a chronological order of what she has to go through so that you can check that we are telling the truth).
I can also mail these records to you or send it via email whatever your good office wants.
She has to go through an operation to remove her breast which she financed on her own through personal and government loans. Only a percentage of the approx. Php200k bill was removed by our LGU because of funding constraints. She spent around Php300k-500k funding her own CT scan, test etc because if she has to go through the free government check-ups from our province, it takes months and by the time she went under the night sadly the cancer already turned stage 4 from 3. There is no clear process when it comes to availing government cancer treatment, she has to travel from Iiligan to CDO almost weekly commuting for the test and has to bounce from one doctor to another and to wait for It pains me that she has to use her loan for her treatment instead of enjoying herself after becoming a regular LGU employee (she’s been waiting for 14 years working almost 24 hours a day as a midwife for the Municipal Health Center). She has to go up in the mountains and travel by foot to her assigned barangay while her cancer is worsening. It took her 1 and half years before her treatment started.
I am crying as I type this.  I am sorry.
Then she has to go through 18-month gruelling chemotherapy that tests her endurance and willpower to live. SHE WANTS TO LIVE FOR US.
We live in Lugait and the Malasakit Center is in NMNC in Cagayan De Oro. They only cater around 10 for chemotherapy daily. So what my mother would normally do monthly is she will commute to Cagayan De Oro for 3-4 hours, stay outside the hospital as early as 10pm (the day before her scheduled chemo) just for a chance to be included on the 10-14 they are catering and this is not guaranteed. There are times she has to wait from 10pm until 2pm the next day just to know if she gets to receive the chemo. SHE ENDURED THIS FOR 18 months because we cannot afford the 50-100k per medicine if bought privately. There are multiple times that NMNC run out of medicine that she has to put out a loan just to pay for the medicine. It pains me to even think about it. She always looks strong to us but sometimes I see her breaking down and crying. She does not want us to see it.
Then after 18 months, we thought okay na she has to go through the next treatment like radiation. But because in Government hospitals they wanted you to do a lot of test and jumps from one doctor to another, she got delayed for a year to receive her next set of treatment. She travels multiple times for follow-ups and to be told to wait for months. The effort taxed her so much that the cancer relapsed and now, it metastasized (spread to her liver) and other parts.
    Now it is 2025.
Despite this she continues to work. I know the only way she survives this by treatment and stopping to work completely to rest and recuperate. But she has to work, we have to work. working is the only way she can earn and at the same time allows her to get a loan.
Now she has to go through another procedure to remove the cancerous mass on her breast and the bill was around Php240k. She financed this because if she waits for the free operation it will take months… She loaned money against her salary because when we asked our LGU for help, only 10k was removed from her bill. That is because politically, we were not considered as voters or supporters of the existing admin. PLEASE DO NOT SHARE THIS MY MOM IS VERY LOYAL TO THE LGU AND EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A FACT, SHE DOES NOT WANT TO MALIGN THE ADMIN. SHE DOES NOT EVEN WANT ME TO RAISE ABOUT THE FACT THAT IT TOOK 14 YEARS BEFORE SHE GETS REGULARIZED. I AM JUST SHARING BECAUSE YOU MIGHT FIND IT ODD WHY OUR BILLS WERE NOT ASSISTED THROUGH MAIP. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED.
So by self financing, she got the surgery.
Now the problem again is the treatment, Amai Pakpak don’t have enough medicine for the treatment and they recommended us to buy it using our own money. We checked with NMNC as well but the next available time for her to be “checked”  will be December.
My mother is already experiencing extreme fatigue, she feels numbness in her body and weakness in her muscles, and the mass returning. She feels she is weakening already. But she has to continue working because she cannot really file a long term leave because her office mates gossip about how she does not get to work because of the cancer excuse. 🙁 My God, they really don’t know that it is really difficult to live with cancer.
My mother is trying to be strong but deep inside she cannot sleep at night because of over thinking that death is imminent and that having no money to afford the expensive bills probably feels really bad for her. This is really a difficult journey for her financially, physically and mentally. She is the best that we got in this world and I can’t imagine losing her. I felt powerless (I just started with life and I am not rich enough to help). She toiled decades as a government employee (a health worker) and loved her work and now, we could not even help her in her times of need. In her medical needs.
When I first heard of your good father, Former President Duterte’s love and advocacy for the cancer patients of Davao, I can’t stop but feel envious that we don’t have anything like this in Misamis Oriental. I really dream and pray that we have the same here.
And that our government should stop the corruption that marred our country. As a taxpayer, I can feel the gritting anger in my bones as I see those bundles of cash being stolen and they even used the word, “BASURA”… Sa bisaya pa makapamalikas ko, “ahak uy, maski kana lang usa ka bundle unta oh solve jud ang cancer treatment sa akoang mama pero gepalit lang ug luxury vehicle.” My lamentations are the same with all the other millions of Filipinos that are sick and tired of what is happening in our country and yet, we cannot do anything because we do not have the power to do so….. Come 2028, we will take that power from them and make sure we vote for what is right. I am one of those people who almost died of stampede during the Unity concern in CDO because they won’t let us out the gates (not until BBM shows anyway if we leave it is bad for the lens). It was raining hard and we hunkered there feverishly. I saw you too madam VP and I was hopeful. Now that this is happening with our country, our road and flood control at the lowest standard, flooding, calamity, corruption, drugs, Deped and everything you warned about came true – I felt sick by just even remembering the time I almost died in the unity rally trying to support BBM. I was one of those hopeful that his Father’s legacy will be vindicated.
Now as I watch my mother getting weaker by the day while she truly believes that government service and the politicians who represent them will make this country a better place, all the while failing to receive the medications she needs makes me cry, grit my teeth in anger as I see in the TVs how they do anything that is possible to stay in power, laments on my bad voting choices and really wanted 2028 to come now at this very moment where I could take back the power to choose properly this time.
I AM SO SORRY TO RANT IN THE EMAIL. I JUST DON’T KNOW WHERE TO EXPRESS NOR TO ASK HELP. MAYBE ON THIS GRAND SCHEME OF THINGS, A QUICK DEATH WOULD BE BETTER THAN GOING THROUGH THIS HARDSHIP – MAYBE ON A DIFFERENT LIFE, WE WOULD HAVE A BETTER CHANCE.
I CRY WHEN PRES. DUTERTE WENT TO HAGUE. I REALLY DO. I CANNOT IMAGINE HIS STATE OF MIND: ALONE, BEING OLD AND SICK ON A FOREIGN COUNTRY AWAY FROM HIS BELOVED PHILIPPINES.
JUST LIKE YOU, I LOVE MY MOM. AND I CAN’T IMAGINE GOING THROUGH THIS WORLD WITHOUT HER.
I attached some of the photos I get to capture (of her records)…. she really does not want to be a burden to anyone and will try anything in her power to stop me from seeking help.
But I am just taking my chance.
You have a good heart Madam President. I am sorry that I have so many grammatical errors in my email. I typed as my emotions flowed.
I am always hoping for the best.
    Regards,
    Prince Keemer AromaA Filipino Citizen

    July 26,2025

    Dear VP Sarah:

    Good afternoon!

I am Geronimo S. Bilbar, Jr. my school was one of the beneficiaries of your PagbabaBago program. I am one in a million who strongly believed in your way of leadership . I and my school are always praying for victory and good health for you.
I am the school head of Bokaw ES, my dream for continuous education to my learners did not end there… together with the help of our Schools Division superintendent Dr. Dr. Anelito A. Bongcawil and SGOD Dr. Verna I Saldo and other potential persons, I was able to open Bokaw National High School with a school ID 306300. Started from Grade 7, now in its second year we opened Grade 8 with a total of 81 students. Since we have no classroom, we constructed a makeshifts buildings funded by our school MOOE. Next year we will be opening a Grade 9 again and usual classroom is our primary problem. With this, as school leader I need to swallow my shyness to ask help to a potential individual or Gov’t agency to help my school. With this, may I humbly ask for an allocation of budget for a classroom from your good office for our students in Bokaw NHS. I strongly hope and pray that this letter be given considerations by your good office. Mam, you make contact me at 09505367294 or 09553756182.

    Thank you and God bless.

Respectfully yours, Geronimo S. Bilbar, Jr,HT

  4. Jordan Palencia says:

    Jordan Palencia

  6. Kris Orti says:

The problem with that rationale, Madam Vice President, is what if it were not the fault of your President, your First Lady, or the speaker of the House to whom you have sworn allegiance? You should decide on which side of the glass you would prefer to stand.
