Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to request an investigation into what appears to be an unusually high electricity bill for our condominium unit.
My husband and I are the only occupants of the unit, and our typical monthly electricity bill ranges from approximately ₱800 to ₱3,500, depending on how often we stay with our families and spend time away from the condo.
For the April–May billing period, we stayed in the condominium for almost the entire month, so we expected our electricity consumption to increase. As a result, our bill reached approximately ₱4,700, which seemed reasonable given our usage during that period.
However, for the May–June billing period, we were away from the condominium for nearly two weeks. Before leaving, we unplugged almost all appliances and devices, with only the refrigerator left running. Despite our significantly reduced occupancy and electricity usage, our latest bill increased to approximately ₱5,500—higher than the bill for the previous month when we were home almost every day.
This discrepancy is difficult for us to understand. We would appreciate an explanation as to how our electricity consumption could be higher during a period when the unit was largely unoccupied and most electrical devices were disconnected.
In light of these circumstances, I respectfully request a review of our meter readings, billing computations, and overall electricity consumption records to determine whether there may have been an error or any other issue affecting our bill.

Good eve po, i want to complain my meralco bill for the month of May. dahil domoble po ang singil nila. kahit balikan po ang mga previous billing ko sa sa meralco ay malayo sa binigay na billing sa month of May. sana ay mabigyan ng refund ang mga sobrang singil na ginawa ng meralco. at isa po ako sa mga taong nasingil nila ng sobra. sana ay mabigyan po ninyo ng aksyon ang aking hinaing..

I just want to complain po about my electric bill that amounted almost 12,000 Pesos, I’m very diasspointed na umabot po ng ganon kalaki ang bill namin kahit na nag less usage kami ng appliance namin so dpat mas mababa pa dapat ngayon. Be considerate naman po lalo po ng nag lockdown isa rin po ako sa nawalan ng trabaho. How can i paid that big amount now? I also have two kids and my partner is pregnant. Magkaroon po sana kayo ng puso, at maitama po ang bill namin. Salamat po!

Honorable Madam,
We write with serious apprehension over our Meralco billing anomalies that constantly occur in the form of extra charges over and above our regular billing. We pay our regular billings each month as billed by Meralco but they consistently try to charge an extra P24,000.00 or so per month in adjustment charges claiming approval by the ERC. Our house is a very small single story residence in a modest village and there is no way our electric bill could be over P50,000.00 per month. We will continue to pay the regular billing charge but having paid the over charge once we are not inclined to pay again even though the Alabang office of Meralco tell us we will be cut off for non-payment of the adjustment charge, Since when is there an adjustment charge each month in the same amount as the regular billings this is ridiculous and patently illegal. Please consider this our formal complaint.
