I’m the owner of a vehicle with Plate # KGT 777 which was due to be registered until 07/21/14. Unfortunately, Las Pinas was affected with prolonged power failure and brown-outs caused by Typhoon Glenda. Even then, I went to the Las Pinas-LTO office a week before the deadline to have the vehicle registered, but I was informed that their system was down and yesterday, 07/23/14, the system finally worked and because of non-operations for days, the office was filled with people transacting businesses which were supposed to be finished days ahead. I was informed that I would have to pay an extra penalty charge of PhP 200.00 for registering my vehicle after the deadline. Said amount is very small, but your system of insisting that the penalty must be paid is UNACCEPTABLE. It is common knowledge that work in both the private and public sectors was disrupted because of power failure, so why can’t the LTO, like other institutions, be COMPASSIONATELY FLEXIBLE in implementing its rules and policies ? In my case, I had a very VALID reason why I was late in registering my vehicle.
Gaano po ba katagal bago lumabas ang plaka ngayon para sa mga sasakyan? February pa po kasi ng binili ang sasakyan until now wala pa po ang plaka. ganun din po sa sticker last February pa nagrenew ng rehistro until now wala pa rin. ang mga numero naman na nakapost ipapasa ka ng ipapasa sa iba pang number.
