on Saturday may 20 about noon, I tried calling the Red Cross donor center 527 0861. the line was busy as it was for the next 30 minutes. So I called one of the numbers listed above. I asked if this was the port area Red Cross. I was told yes. I asked if the Red Cross was open for blood donors. I was told yes. I asked if there was a doctor on duty. I was told yes. I asked how long the Red Cross was open. I was told until 4pm..
So I took a cab from Taguig all the way to the Port area. When I got there. I was told by the donor center that they were closed. “the doctor had to attend an emergency meeting in Mandaluyong”. ON Saturday? Really?
I had called ahead just to avoid such a frustration.
IF THE DONOR CENTER IS CLOSED. PERHAPS YOU SHOULD SAY SO BEFORE SOMEONE TAKES THE TROUBLE TO COME THERE.

    MARK H (LONGTIME DONOR)
